Empowers Believers; Reaches the Community and Beyond
Preschool![]() Purpose
The purpose of Cary Methodist Preschool is to provide a Christian environment in which children experience positive “hands-on” learning that fosters spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.
The Program
Our curriculum provides opportunities for children to increase their social skills, cognitive development and physical coordination as well as nurture their spiritual development. We offer a variety of two, three and four half-day sessions for children 2 ½ to 5 years old. Each session includes circle times (including prayer), art, science, music, storytime, large motor activities and snack. Our classrooms provide a developmentally appropriate interactive environment that allows all children to grow and develop at his/her own pace. The curriculum for all ages is in line with the Illinois Early Learning Standards.
The children also participate in Chapel Time once a month with the Pastor of Cary United Methodist Church. The 4's and Pre-K children also attend Science Class once a month outside of the regular classroom.
Stay 'n Play, an extended day program, is offerd to all of our students on the days they attend preschool. The morning children have the opportunity to bring their lunch to school and extend their preschool day until 1:00 pm. The afternoon children have the opportunity to extend their preschool day by one hour by coming to preschool at 11:30 am with a lunch and are taken to their preschool class at 12:30pm. There is a fee for this program.
Preschool Board
A Board of Directors governs Cary Methodist Preschool. This Board consists of up to 12 members, the Preschool Director and the Pastors of Cary United Methodist Church. The Preschool Board meets the second Tuesday of each month. We welcome parents, church members as well as community members to be a part of our Preschool Board.
